22.08.09: Assignment
4 and Assignment 5 are announced. As all
students preferred both projects to be due to the same day, deadline for
both projects is 05.08.2009 17:00. As course syllabus states you lose 25%
for each late day.
14.07.09: Assignment 3 is announced due
21.07.2009 17:00. For this assignment you will write a system call
mySysCall() that prints out the string "Hello World!" and your
name & surname when it is called from the user space test program named
testProg_<NameSurname>.c Submit your kernel image Debian package
(linux-image-2.6.20.15-custom_2.6.20.15-custom-10.00.Custom_i386.deb) and
test program on a CD. Follow the second part of this
tutorial for this assignment.
25.06.09 : Problem sessions will be conducted at ETA B3.
25.06.09 : You can download the tutorial about kernel compilation
and adding system calls, for Ubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.20-15) and i386
architecture machines from here.
25.06.09 : Your 1st and 2nd
Assignments have been assigned: You shall install Ubuntu 8.04 to your
computer and compile the 2.6.20 kernel version. Due date is 07.07.2009
Tuesday. Make sure you complete these assignments since they are crucial
for the following assignments and projects.

assignments and projects, during this course. You can download the ISO
