The workshop will be hosted in the Vedat Yerlici Konferans Merkezi (VYKM) on the South Campus of Bogazici University in Bebek, Istanbul (see map below, or for an interactive map).

How to get there?

Form the airport, it is the most convenient solution to take a Havataş bus to Taksim Square in the center of Istanbul (see for the schedules and prices).

In order to reach the venue using public transportation, you need to take a bus to the bus stop İETT Boğaziçi Durağı (marked on the map). You can get more information on the webpage of IETT. Important: you need to buy a rechargable chip card (Istanbulcard) and charge it sufficiently before getting on a bus. You can use this card on all buses, boats, metros. Get more information about the Istanbulcard here.

We can offer two inexpensive options. Both are state-run hotels, and have therefore rather basic standards. If you wish more comfortable solutions, you might want to look for a business hotel in the Levent area, or look for a hotel close to Taksim square. The latter would put you in the middle of the city's cultural life too. The two inexpensive options we can offer are:

1. Uygulama Hotel Akmerkez: Single room/Double room: 95TL/130TL + taxes, including breakfast. These prices are the current (Winter) prices, the room rate in June might be higher, but still cheaper than private hotels in the area. From this hotel, you have a direct public bus connection to the university, which takes about 15 minutes.

2. Kilyos Campus Hotel: This hotel on another campus of the university is situated directly at the Black Sea, outside of Istanbul. It is connected by regular and cheap local bus to the venue, with the transfer time being about one hour. While this option places you a bit far away, it has the advantage of being directly at a beautiful beach. The room rates here: Single room/ Double room: 90TL/150TL + taxes, including breakfast.

If you would like to stay with one of the two options please send an email to Umut Şimşekli, cc to, containing: Check-in date, check-out date, room type (single or double), number of persons, and the hotel (Uygulama or Kilyos).
