Dr. Tugcu received his PhD degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University in 2001. After working as a post-doc for 18 months in Broadband and Wireless Networking Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, he was appointed as a visiting assistant professor at Georgia Tech Savannah for two years. He is now an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Bogazici University. He is associated with the Computer Networks Research Lab (NetLab).

Dr. Tugcu's research interests include wireless networks, with the emphasis on Next Generation Wireless Networks including WiMAX (IEEE 802.16), MBWA (IEEE 802.20), Cognitive Radio (Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks), and sensor networks. He is also interested in real-time systems and operating systems. Follow the "Research" link on the left for his projects.

Dr. Tugcu has received "TUBITAK Career Award" with his project on Next Generation Wireless Systems project. He also contributes in the SATLAB and TAM projects funded by the State Planning Organization of Turkey (DPT).
