Research

I am a member of PILab (Perceptual Intelligence Laboratory) at Boğaziçi University, CmpE. I have recently finished my M.S. thesis on “Facial Feature Tracking and Expression Recognition for Sign Language” under the supervision of Prof. Lale Akarun. I investigated Active Shape Models and expanded them to track facial features from multilple views of faces in image sequences. In addition, Hidden Markov Models were used for the classification of the non-manual signs.

My current academic interests are tracking using active vision and classification of facial features. In general, I am interested in computer vision and image processing. But, I also like to design user-friendly interfaces and read/write about internet technologies.

You can also visit my personal homepage to get some source code and software I wrote or contributed. Some of the other projects are here in my project archive.
