Jean-Marc Desharnais 

    I  have been working in the computer and software engineering fields for more than 35  years, as an analyst and project manager at the start of his career, and, in the last 22 years, as a software engineering consultant, researcher and professor. Since 1987, the expertise he have developed has mainly been in project management, specifically software measures for business applications. He is the Canadian representative at ISO SC/7 WG-6 (Quality measures) and the editor of the Quality Measure Element standard (ISO/IEC 25021). Dr. Desharnais is also co-founder of COSMIC in 1998 and co-author of the COSMIC functional size measurement method. He taught for 4 years as full time professor (docent) at ÉTS (École de Technologie Supérieure) in Montreal, Canada and since the fall of 2008 as Lecturer at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. He has nearly a hundred research publications (see www.gelog.etsmtl.ca), continue to collaborate with ÉTS as adhunc professor, and doing consulting work around the world.
