In this assignment, you will be given a journal paper on a topic related to wireless and mobile networks. You are required to prepare a term paper by understanding and critically evaluating the contribution of the journal paper in your own words. Do not cut and paste either from the paper or any other source on the Internet. You may have to read additional materials in order to understand the paper. Your critical evaluation paper should not exceed 3-4 pages (not counting the cover) of your writing with 11 pt fonts, single line spacing, 2.5 cm margins, non exaggerated paragraph separations. Overlength term papers will not be graded!
The
term paper should include:
- A cover page which must include the paper title, author(s), journal
information, etc.
- A brief introduction, motivation, the shortcomings of any previous
work and problem statement
- The system model and assumptions considered by the author(s).
You must evaluate these assumptions and the
general model structure critically. If you are not convinced with the
validity of an assumption, then write that down.
- The solution strategy. Make sure you critically read the solution
technique and interpret the equations. If you think something is not right
with the mathematical development, state your reasons.
- Simulation-based or analytical results, system parameters used in
the evaluation. Are these parameters realistic? Do the parameters provide
a fair basis of comparison with other methods?
- Conclusions: Make a summary of the paper. State your evaluation on
the method of solution and present any ideas you may have for further improvement.
Stress the shortcomings of the proposed method.
- References: List full information about your paper and any additional
references you may have resorted to.
- A copy of the evaluated journal paper should be added to the term paper.
