475 Term Project
Deadline:
In
this project, you will compare the performances of two of the pipelining DLL
protocols explained in your textbook. You will measure the performance in terms
of payloads delivered per second as a function of the checksum error rate, lost
packet rate and timeout interval. You will use the simulator given in http://authors.phptr.com/tanenbaumcn4/simulator/coverPageSimulator.html
to
perform your measurements.
To
come up with a sound conclusion about the performance results, you have to
observe how payloads/sec is affected when above mentioned factors are varied.
In
your report, you are expected to both verbally explain your results and provide
necessary graphs that pictorially represent the outcomes.
