Rules for Technology Presentations
Please pay attention to these points for your technology
presentations.
- Your presentation should be 15 minutes, plus 2-3 minutes for
questions.
- Make sure that you include enough details for us to understand what
you are talking about but don't include *all* details. You have 15
minutes for the entire thing. Use it wisely.
- Try to relate your presentation to the topics we cover in class. Is
it an alternative to something we covered in class? Which problem
does it solve, etc.
- Practice your timing before the presentation.
- Right *before* your presentation, turn in your report as hard
copy. Make sure that you write the report yourself and don't copy
paste from other sources. Even if you give references, cutting and
pasting from another resource is considered cheating. I apply this
rule strictly.
- If your topic is on comparing something (payment systems,
application servers, etc.) make sure that you select what you want to
compare first and talk to me about them. You can also make a list of
interesting entities and then we can make the selection together.
- Contact your partner early. If you cannot reach your partner for
some reason, please let us know immediately.
