23.10.09: System call assignment: follow the tutorial posted below and write your first system call. Submit the Debian package you created during the procedure, which contains your kernel image, on a CD, during next PS hours (30.10.2009).
18.09.09 : You can download
the tutorial about kernel compilation and adding system calls, for Ubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.20-15) and i386 architecture
machines from here.
10.09.09 : You shall use Ubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.20 for your assignments and
projects, during this course. You can download the ISO image of Ubuntu 8.04 from http://robot.cmpe.boun.edu.tr/~ckavaklioglu/ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386.iso
