05.12.2008 Thursday: Project 1 submission is extended from 05.12.2008 Friday 11:00 a.m. to 05.12.2008 Friday 15:00 p.m. NOTE THAT SUCH AN EXTENSION SHALL NOT OCCUR FOR PROJECT 2 SUBMISSION!!!

26.10.08 Sunday: Problem Session dates and assignment submission deadlines in the Lab Schedule have been updated.

26.10.08 Sunday: "Linux Kernel Module Programming Guide" by Peter Jay Salzman, Michael Burian, and Ori Pomerantz is a useful online documentation about kernel modules (url: http://tldp.org/LDP/lkmpg/2.6/html/lkmpg.html). You'll need this tutorial for your fourth assignment (Assignment 4) that shall be announced soon.

09.10.08 Thursday: From now on problem sessions shall be conducted at ETA A2.

09.10.08  Thursday: You can download the tutorial about kernel compilation and adding system calls, for Ubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.20-15) and i386 architecture machines from here.

09.10.08  Thursday:  Your 1st Assignment has been assigned. As your first assignment, you shall install Ubuntu 8.04 to your computer. Due date is 17.10.2008 Friday. Assignment 1 will not be graded, but we strongly recommend you to obey the deadlines for your own sake, so that you can submit Project 1 and Project 2 on time.

09.10.08 Thusday: You shall use Ubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.20 for your assignments and projects, during this course. You can download the ISO image of Ubuntu 8.04 from http://robot.cmpe.boun.edu.tr/~ckavaklioglu/ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386.iso

08.10.08 Tuesday: As it has already been announced on 02.10.08 Thursday through course e-mail list, from now on Problem Sessions shall be conducted on Thursdays between slots 9-10 (i.e. between hours 17:00-19:00).here
