June 29, 2009:  Lectures will start at 09:15 sharp (instead of 09:00)

 

June 30, 2009:  Please send me (Mordo) an e-mail TODAY, regarding your schedule. (Will be used to schedule the PS hours)

 

July 1, 2009: Problem Sessions will be held on Wed and Thu from 9:00 to 11:00

 

July 5, 2009: I will be available in my office (ETA 14) or the LAB at ETA floor 1 to help students working in the LAB, every on Mon. and Tue from 12:30 to 15:00 - Mordo

 

July 7, 2009: Problem Sessions will be held at ETA A2

 

July 14, 2009: Midterm will be held on Thu 23, Between 9:15-10:45.[1]

 

July 23, 2009: Assignment 1 deadline postponed to July 26.

 

July 26, 2009: On July 30 (Thursday) the problem sessions will be replaced by lectures.

 

July 30, 2009: My examples are compiled and run in a UNIX compatible system (CygWin). Replace <unistd.h> with <windows.h>  in windows systems.

Aug 4, 2009: The final exam will be held on Aug 6, 17:30-20:00 at ETA A2. [2]Additional office hour in the same day:

10:30-12:30 and 13:30-17:30

 

Aug 10, 2009: These grades are tentative; they will be finalized after having the results of all homework. Please note that a student having a red box in his/her row will not have a passing grade, no matter what appears in the FINAL GRADE column.

 

August 13, 2009: The grades will be submitted tomorrow. Clarifications are e-mailed separately.



[1] You will be asked to:

1) Design the interface of a class.

2) Provide a partial implementation of the interface.

 

The interface will include static methods, and overloaded operators.

 

You are allowed to bring printouts of the slides, so that you do not have to memorize nitty-gritty details.

[2] You are allowed to bring all the material published in the course's web site, i.e.:

1) The printouts of the slides

2) Sample programs

 

The exam will be of 150 minutes. The emphasis will be on the following subjects, in the following order:

 

- Inheritance/Polymorhism (%40-50)

- Exceptions - Templates  (%40-50)

- The material of the first weeks (%0-20)
